PERSONALITY:
Keita is rather...complicated person.
At times, he is very friendly and open; easy to laugh and very out-going and playful. He's always ready to give you his shoulder to cry and/or lean on, and will always welcome you with open arms. He's bright and cheery, loving to surround himself with people and just ease out the hardships of life.
However, there are also times when he comes in moody and irritable. He'll be quick to anger and will snap at most everyone. He also tends to stay very quiet and isolate himself from the crowd, not bothering to respond when someone attempts to converse with him.
Keita will treat you as if you're the most important thing in the world to him, but then he is prone to do a total 360 and treat you as if you were no one and make it seem everything's your fault (even if it is his fault). These negative episodes are rather dangerous to Keita's person, seeing as he falls deeply into depression he won't eat at all and will become something of an introvert, going so far as to skip classes and sleep.
When he's happy, though, he will and can eat a whole buffet by himself. He's laid back and easy going, tending to complain how tired he is though he's done nothing the entire time. He's fair and will listen to both sides of a story, and will stay unbiased, trying to fix disputes with both parties satisfied.
All in all, Keita is a rather all around good person who has some (a lot of) issues with his emotions.
HISTORY:
Keita is the only son out of the 5 children born to the Sasagawa family, with him being the 4th. Since he could remember, he'd never been exceptionally close to anyone in his family aside from his younger sister (who was only a year his junior).
When he was 10, his parents would have screaming fits at each other most everyday. This unsettled him and his siblings, but he'd soon learned to block out the noise and busy himself with music and the internet. His mother soon transferred herself to sleep in the second floor with them (his parents' room was located downstairs), turning his little sisters' room into her own (since she slept with him in his room). This scared him, he didn't want his parents to not love each other and get a divorce. He had once again, however, forced himself to accept this. It wasn't long til he'd found out his father's true nature, however, making him bitter and radiate hatred for the man he'd once considered his hero.
It was just a few days past New Years, when Keita was to turn 13, when his father had abandoned them all together.
It was tough, seeing as his father - who had boasted how the house was his his his - made no effort, nor showed any compassion, of paying the bills. The first dinner of his leaving was a toast of bread each. They struggled and had to sacrifice a lot of things, but then they had managed. Just when things had finally settled, however, the court case between his mother and father had finished and, after a whole year after leaving his family for dead, his father had come back.
Still bitter and resenting everything his father had done, Keita started to spend lesser time at home and with his family. They would have been cut off all communication if Keita did not have remaining care for his mother (he didn't want to end up like his father). As the days wore on, he fell deeper and deeper into the negativity of the situation, but his upbringing had managed to also keep him on the positive side. This, however, soon confused Keita.
Soon enough, he could not decipher what he truly felt for something, but he tended to brush if off as normal. These symptoms managed to skyrocket once he hit 15. He started to be happy one moment, then wish everyone a slow and painful death for simply sitting next to him. Concerned, he urged his friends to come along with him to get a check up.
The diagnosis he'd received (Borderline Personality Disorder), he'd kept a secret from his family. He did not believe in it, however, and fought to prove it wrong. Soon, however, things started to get worse. There were times when he would simply get the urge to just bleed, causing the multiple scars he has on his stomach and thighs. He also started to have on-off relationships with his friends, tending to just leave during an outing and such (he later learned one of them called up his mother). When he started to skip classes and sleep, and appear to have cut off the world, and his mother had started to be suspicious, he'd reluctantly shown the paper he'd kept hidden for a year and a half. He'd cried that night, his mothers disappointed look etched into his mind.
By then, Keita had mildly improved, but the episodes stuck, lowering his performance in school. His parents had later found a boarding school fit for their son's "sickness."

Keita's kind of based off of me, since he and I have the same condition kind of (I haven't been diagnosed yet, but the symptoms and causes are on the dot when compared to me). I just tweaked a few things with him
